Chevrolet Aveo
Chevrolet as a brand has carved a niche for itself in manufacturing cars that have grandeur, style and comfort. Chevrolet Aveo is the entry level sedan and has become quite popular because of its good looks and the fuel economy that it offers.
Just one ride in the Aveo and you would be all for it, no complains.
Styling and Design
The Chevrolet Aveo boasts of superb designing and is available with an option of two engines – 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter, which are combined with 5 speed gear box. The chrome finished radiator grilles, body colored bumper, trunk lid handle and chrome/body colored door handles give it quite a handsome look. The sticker printed antenna at the rear windshield gives an illusion of its non-existence. The 1.6 liter version also has tinted glasses that not only add to the looks but also provide good shielding from the scorching sun.
Once you get inside the Chevrolet Aveo, there is a world of class and plush interiors. The dual tone beige interiors are combined with wood to give a rich feel. The cabin seems quite airy and spacious. The full fabric seats on the front and rear are comfortable and come with an integrated head rests for supreme comfort while driving. The rear seats recline quite well and there is plenty of legroom and headroom as well. The steering wheel and the driver’s seat are height adjustable. Virtually, with a Chevrolet Aveo, you can achieve a sense of complete noise insulation as you pull up the power windows, which makes you enjoy the audio with six speakers. The air conditioner is quite powerful and the Aveo also has a heater installed that maintains the inside temperature during the chilled weather. One disadvantage of this luxury sedan is that the height of the dashboard hampers the front view to certain extent.
Chevrolet Aveo also comes with a variety of safety features as well. The 1.6 liter comes with the ABS and also with two front airbags. There is anti theft system and also the key inside reminder feature.
Drive and Handling
Chevrolet Aveo is quite a comfortable car and as mentioned, you can enjoy quite a comfortable drive in it without any major complains. The engine of the car is powerful and is better used when cruising on a highway ride than being revved up on a city drive. Fuel economy wise, the efficiency is quite comparable to other cars in its segment such as the Ford Fiesta and Honda City. The fuel economy comes to be 13kmpl on the highway. The gear changes can seem to be notchy at times. The raised suspension and the high ground clearance can well handle the bumpy Indian roads. The overall performance is good.
Rating
Chevrolet Aveo is a car that has been appreciated for its luxury and comfort and these are the features that also cover up the short comings, if any, of the engine and the performance. Price wise too, it is quite competitive in its segment. Overall, I would rate the car 3.5/5.
