Fiat Palio Stile
Fiat Palio Stile is the car that has its USP in being elegantly designed. The Fiat Palio has been around on the Indian roads for quite some good years and now it has been well packaged in terms of the looks and design and presented as Fiat Palio Stile. The new version seems to be more comfortable and also and sports new optics. The body colored grille and the door handles give it an extraordinary look. The alloy wheels are only a feature in the top end model. However, the car does not only boast of its remarkable designing but it is quite rigid as well. A ride in the car would surely prove this as one sees its performance on rugged and bumpy roads. Seemingly, the tough and rigid body of Palio Stile cuts off all the vibrations from getting in the cabin. All this in the Fiat Palio Stile is packaged at Rs 4.86lacs.
Design and Interiors
As you get inside the Fiat Palio Stile, you come across the revamped interiors that were in its predecessor. The air conditioner and the power steering are available throughout all the models. The dual toned beige and brown dashboard gives it a fresh feel.
There is a 12V accessory socket which comes in handy. Also the cup holders in the dashboard are a great idea, especially for people who are fond of long drives. The Fiat Palio has smaller cabin space as compared to the other cars in the same segment such as the Indica Vista and Swift Dzire but the rear seats are really great. The car has 5 seater arrangements but is a car that has to be chauffer driven as the rear seats are the most comfortable with lot of legroom. Also, the Fiat Palio Stile offers the maximum boot space of 260 liters. The rear seat can also be double folded, thereby doubling the space. So, you can virtually carry everything that you need for a perfect outing.
The not so good point is that the interiors bear quite a resemblance to the Sienna and the plastic quality used is also not of the best quality. Overall, it seems quite dated though the optics has been added to cloak the age.
Handling and Performance
The Fiat Palio Stile runs on 1248cc, 4 cylinder common-rail engine. The engine delivers a maximum power of 75PS at 4000 rpm which is quite good. The handling of the car is as per the Fiat standards- quite sturdy and inspiring. The suspension, as mentioned earlier is at its best. The car takes on the bad and bumpy roads with quite a style and panache and invokes confidence in the driver. The braking system could have been improved. On the flip side, the car seems to under steer too much. The fuel economy in the highways is a good 26.72kmpl but it’s a big let down in the city, barely reaching 16kmpl.
Rating
Fiat Palio Stile comes with immense space and excellent ride quality. The design is also neat and impressive but seems quite dated. The after sales service and spares can be an issue. Overall, I would rate it as 3.5/5 in terms of performance and value for money.
